HELP US CREATE A COMMUNITY GARDEN & GREENSPACE!

As the flowers begin to bloom, we need your help to create an accessible greenspace around our new building in the Manchester community.
In partnership with Marvel design, we are planning to transform our yard into a well-lit park with native plants, ample seating and space for outdoor markets and art production. This area will be open to the public and will include permeable landscaping and other sustainability efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and impact on the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We’re excited to partner with our friends at RVA Community Fridges to install a new outdoor fridge & pantry and Virginia Community Voice’s Greening Working Group on community garden beds.
To kick our greenspace project off, we need to raise $50,000 this spring! (WOWZA!)
We believe in the power of artists to make civic change and to improve neighborhoods from the grassroots up! Will you contribute to our effort to reduce our impact on Manchester and to create a sweet place for our new neighbors to gather?
Your donation will be visible quickly! We plan to get started as soon as possible and hope to have the space in progress in early June.
Your donations in the first quarter of 2024 have already reached over 15,000 Richmonders, who gather weekly (and almost daily!) in our new building for free community cultural events, film screenings, social justice & community organizing initiatives, field trips & workshops, and dances & celebrations.
